Power/Yoke Cable Replacement
There are three types of cables on your Black Eagle: 2 Power Cables, 2 Yoke Cables, 1
Timing Cable.
The POWER Cable is designed to be replaced
every 5,000 shots based on average use at 60 Ib. and with a 540 grain arrow. Lighter
arrows and higher draw weight will require more frequent replacement. This should be done
if any fraying is evident. Failure to replace cables before they break could result in
further damage to your bow and a cost to you.
To replace both cables.
- Loosen timing system locking hub. (fig. 2)
- Reduce weight on limbs until string can be
removed.
- Loosen saddle screw (fig. 7) - slide saddle
off recurve. limb toward weight bolt.
- Rotate outboard to expose hinge (fig. 8),
- Replace cables - check tightness of screws in
hinge while they are accessible.
NOTE: Every second time you replace power
cables it is advisable to replace yoke cables as well.
- Reverse above steps but while draw weight is
light, straighten limbs - follow limb alignment procedure below.
- CAUTION: Remember to retighten timing hub
locking screw before drawing bow.
- CAUTION: When assembling the bow such as
after cable or string replacement be sure the butt section of the power limb (straight
limb) is seated all the way into the limb pocket. Special Very High Bond adhesive tape is
installed at the factory to permanently bond the limb pocket to the limb (fig. 9). If this
has been removed or damaged by oil, it should be replaced to insure optimum sound
dampening.
